Meanwhile i’d suggest you go Scarlet Monestary with a friend (I was a mage, and i had a hunter friend, sometimes another mage, and sometimes a priest) — that will do just fine, regardless of gear. I suggest Library and Armory for the most Silk Cloth / Mageweave. – That way you can also get your little Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade, which I think is awesome. — It’s a small bonus to the grind 🙁
If you want to always have dibs on getting into Raid or Dungeons being a Tank is the way to go, and if you are Warrior Tank well that justs the cherry on top. Tanks are always in high demand and if you are unsure how to complete a Dungeon or Raid some players will be happy to teach you if you ask. When it comes to PVP Protection Warrior can be useful Flag Runners if they have a Healer pocket them, even without you can make due.
The Anvil – Protection 51. No, really. This is a build that the first MT in my first raiding guild used, and with it we cleared several realm first kills all the way up to Naxx 40. This build sacrifices pretty much all damage and Deflection over in Arms, which was a hard sell at the time — when I started main tanking I ended up going with a variant Arms 5/Protection 46 build that gave up Improved Taunt and One-Handed Weapon Spec for those 5 points in Deflection. Either way, this is a spec that says I tank, and I don’t do anything else without either spending gold or bringing a lot of friends with me. But they have a ton of survival in them.

Slam Fury Build — 19/32 or 20/31 Fury. This build comes in several varieties. This one makes sure to get Bloodthirst, the signature Fury attack, but it doesn’t include Improved Execute and it doesn’t have full 2h Weapon Specialization from the Arms tree. This variant, which is the one I used, doesn’t go full into Improved Slam so the cast time is a bit longer, but it has Improved Execute and full 2h Weapon Specialization. You can do without Bloodthirst entirely if you prefer, and still get Improved Slam, Flurry, and 2h Weapon Spec all maxed out, which some players preferred. All of these builds used 2h weapons in PVE content, as Fury was basically untenable in PVP, although I still did PVP in my variant of the spec. By the end of classic WoW my gear allowed me to do fairly well, but it was a handicap and I knew it.

There were too many variants to list, but the biggest wasn’t a variant at all, but was instead this Arms 11/Prot 40 build that traded away the 5 points in Fury for Cruelty with full 1h Weapon Specialization and Improved Taunt. Neither of these builds could generate much DPS — this was purely about threat and survival, and any farming or otherwise playing outside of a dungeon or raid would often require you to spend gold on a respec (no multiple talent specs back then) or to have friends who would come kill stuff while you tanked it.
Your top priority is to use Bloodthirst on cooldown. While BT is on cooldown, you’ll want to use Whirlwind. If you have BT coming off cooldown, don’t use WW unless you’ll still have enough for BT right as it comes off cooldown. When both BT and WW are on cooldown, you can use your rage dump abilities. For single target, you can use Heroic Strike, but you’ll want to use Cleave for more than one enemy. The final ability on the rotation is Overpower, which does require you to switch into Battle Stance. Because of this, you’ll only want to switch to Battle Stance to use OP when BT and WW are on cooldown and you have less than 50 rage. When an enemy reaches 20% health, your rotation becomes Execute and Execute alone.

In-Game Addon Version of My Leveling Guides:  As of June 6th the In-Game Addon version of my leveling guides has began construction!  It will be a long road before it's finished completely, so I cannot guarantee how much of it will be ready for Classic Launch but there is a decent chance that some starting zones will be complete for it by then.  It will be full of features, including:  waypoint arrows, automatic updating, and much more.  More features will be available for it overtime too.
Despite tauren and trolls being good choices, the clear standout winner is an orc. Not only do orcs have a passive weapon skill boost when using axes, but they also have one of the strongest racial damage abilities in the entire game, Blood Fury. Blood Fury is insanely powerful for warriors, boosting attack power by 25% for a whole 15 seconds at the cost of reduced healing. Even better, it has just a 2 minute cooldown. Hands down, you’ve got to be an orc if you really care about maximizing your DPS.

Blacksmithing – An obvious profession choice (especially if you chose mining) for warriors is blacksmithing. Blacksmithing entails the creation of plate armor and melee weapons, which are a warriors forte. When it comes to PVP Warrior players will tend to either go Fury or Arms Spec, Fury early levels and when you reach level 60 Arms can be a monster with the right type of gear. Arms specifically with the final talent in the arms tree Mortal Strike is really good for dealing with healers as it reduces the amount of healing that target receives by 50%. Fury can stick to enemies a bit easier thanks to Death Wish, which makes you immune to the Fear you can expect to see from Preist.
I made some route changes to the Horde levels 43-44 sections.  I have swapped 44 Dustwallow Marsh with 44 Desolace (the entire sections). This allowed me to do Deadmire (at lvl 43 instead of 38) and then go stop at TB to turn in Deadmire + The Black Shield at the same time, then fly quickly to do the Desolace stuff.  Doing 44 Desolace is now mandatory because I think its faster with the new routes. This will also make the level 53 grind much shorter.  I think these were great changes.
