The Anvil – Protection 51. No, really. This is a build that the first MT in my first raiding guild used, and with it we cleared several realm first kills all the way up to Naxx 40. This build sacrifices pretty much all damage and Deflection over in Arms, which was a hard sell at the time — when I started main tanking I ended up going with a variant Arms 5/Protection 46 build that gave up Improved Taunt and One-Handed Weapon Spec for those 5 points in Deflection. Either way, this is a spec that says I tank, and I don’t do anything else without either spending gold or bringing a lot of friends with me. But they have a ton of survival in them.

The Selfish Arms-Fury 31/20 build. This build is all about a 2h weapon. It hasn’t made any concessions to expecting to tank, and it’s purely about doing as much damage as possible with a 2h weapon, specifically a sword in this case for the Sword Specialization chance to proc another attack. This build could easily change based on what the best 2h weapon you happened to have access to is — most players would probably use Axe or Polearm spec since those seemed easier to get than swords. This particular spec doesn’t even use Deflection, which is a decent survivability talent, choosing instead to focus on Improved Overpower for more crit chance when dealing with annoying Rogues trying to dodge everything you do. This is as close to a glass cannon build as Arms Warriors ever got, back in the day. Arms with proper gear for the time (basically, the best PVP gear or raid gear from BWL or up) would go with this spec and just annihilate people in BG’s, trusting in a pocket healer to keep them alive long enough to ruin people’s days. If you saw an Arms Warrior with the Might of Menethil and Mace Spec, you knew you were in for a bad, bad time.

As many of you know, leveling a Warrior in Classic is not easy - it’s almost like playing the game on hard mode. Despite having low mobility, low sustain, and the highest gear dependence in the game, Warriors are by far the most played class in Vanilla. There is a sort of masochistic appeal to leveling the hardest class in the game. To some, this epic challenge provides the purest Vanilla experience, and watching an expert pilot this class with finesse is like watching an artist at work.
The Horde 12-20 (Barrens + Stonetalon Mountains) guide has been rewritten and revamped.  In addition, there has been numerous tweaks to the speedrun route to make things faster and easier to follow.  Also, in case you haven't noticed I am now adding about 40% more info per step and redoing all the images.  Unlike with my previous vanilla guides, I am now giving a brief explanation of where to go and what to do with each step along with any other helpful tips.
Talent trees are the customizable feature that allows a warrior to flourish. When you gain new talents, especially ones that offer you new and iconic abilities, you’ll feel much stronger and it will add extra depth to your class. Within each class, spec helps distinguish between different players of that class. Even further, the talents you choose will help make you stand out from another player of the same class!

As a warrior, you need to be up close and personal in order to deal damage. This puts you directly in harm’s way, so you’ll need to keep a close eye on your character to ensure your safety! Make sure to run out of fire on the ground, and never attack bosses from the front! This will allow them to dodge and parry your abilities, effectively reducing your DPS.

Even though warriors do have two DPS specializations, arms and fury, fury is highly favored amongst higher leveled players. Arms is primarily reserved for PvP and leveling, mainly because of the stat requirements to effectively deal damage as a fury warrior. While you’re still leveling, you don’t have the ability to pick and choose what stats you have, instead using any piece you can find.
When it comes to gearing and picking enchants, you’ll need to understand stat priority. Stat priority refers to a concept in which specific stats are more important than others. Every single class has different stat priorities, as their abilities and attacks all scale differently. Warriors, especially dual-wielding fury warriors, have an even bigger importance when it comes to stat priority because there are stat requirements they must reach in order to consistently deal damage.
Before we give you the Classic WoW Best Leveling Class, let’s discuss what we consider to be the Best Classes to choose for levelling. These are ranked based on how fast and easy it is to level up from 1 – 60 whether you are doing it with a group or simply Solo levelling yourself. Classes with AOE Damage and the ability to self heal tend to rank higher simply because it’s much easier to level up when you can sustain your health and clear mobs of monsters. In the case of Warlock and Hunter Class you have a pet that can help tank mobs while you DPS them down, this is another huge benefit when leveling up.

Jack of all trades — Arms/Fury/Protection 31/5/15. This build was the meat and potatoes Warrior build of classic WoW. This was the build you picked if you were going to do some tanking, some PVP, and you weren’t the main tank of your raid guild or just didn’t want to have to switch specs around constantly. It does a little bit of everything — it has Mortal Strike for those bosses that had a self heal, it lets you switch to a big 2h weapon (although you don’t get 2h Weapon Specialization) in your off hours, it’s basically the I’m not going to be the best at anything but I can do anything you need spec. There are variants for players who wanted to do more damage — swapping out Improved Thunder Clap and Hamstring for 2h Weapon Spec, for example.
