Even though the guide was developed with a hunter, the guide can be followed by any class. Except you have to do your class's quests which aren't a whole lot. I do have full intention to make my guide friendly with all classes in the future by listing all of their steps as well. There will be a toggle that allows you to show which class's steps you want to see in the guide. But this is coming later.
This build is what you should use if you want to do 5-man dungeons. With this 14/0/37 build, you’ll go deep into the shadow tree to fill out Shadow Reach and Shadow Affinity. This allows you to generate virtually no threat, while also having excellent range in the mobile environment of a dungeon. This build will make use of Vampiric Embrace, so you could consider adding an additional point in Improved Vampiric Embrace for even more healing.
Mana per 5 seconds, AKA Mp5, adds direct mana regeneration that continues even while casting spells. Normally, this stat is very sought after, but while leveling, a priest should be relying on Spirit and Spirit Tap to regenerate mana, and should not be casting enough spells to fully reap the benefit of uninterrupted mana regeneration. This stat is also generally obtained at the cost of other stats, as not much leveling gear has Mp5 on it without also sacrificing other stats.
I am currently working full time on my Vanilla WoW leveling guides. Soon there will be a 1-60 speed leveling guide for Alliance, along with in-game guide versions available for my members area. As of right now, there is no members area, but if you would like to show support for my efforts into this project, you can simply donate to me via Patreon if you like (you will get some cool rewards in return). Or you can donate directly with PayPal if you like. All donations are highly appreciated and they will only motivate me more to continue making the best vanilla WoW leveling guides on the web.
Another thing of note is Vampiric Embrace. While this may seem like a useful ability that heals party members for 20% of shadow damage you deal, it isn’t useful enough in a raid environment to be worthy of the threat it generates. The ability only heals based off damage that you deal, and it only heals the other 4 members of your direct party. This means you’ll almost never use it in a raid, unless specifically asked to.
When it comes to levelling the Priest Class from 1-60 fast, XP grinding locations is only half the battle. You will need to make sure your weapon does enough DPS so that you can clear these mobs fast enough, it should also be noted that monster should be around your level to make sure to gain the 100% XP Reward. The Level your character should be before you start that specific location will be indicated to left in a Blue Color for Alliance [Lvl 35-39] and the Orange Color for Horde [Lvl 35-39]. The Mobs you are looking for in that specific area names are Bolded [Mob Name].
If you are out of mana, do not panic. Your wand provides a substantial amount of DPS. Just target something and wand it down. Passive mana regeneration should regenerate enough mana for a Power Word: Shield, if it is needed. Get the killing blow, get Spirit Tap and wait its full duration before starting combat again, then rinse and repeat until you are full mana. If any other players are fighting mobs nearby, attempt to get the killing blow for an easy Spirit Tap.
